ChatGPT is engagement-baiting me hard now. It now ends responses with a teaser to continue the conversation (e.g. something like “would you like to learn the 1 big thing that people make a mistake on, and how you can avoid it?”). Feels like this is the big push for ads…

Wondering if folks who are named Claude, Siri, (etc) are affected by these naming decisions in day-to-day life.

“Accountability is the job” as the time and cost of implementing ideas becomes more efficient.

I replaced a CMS for my inconsistently-updated personal static site to now just use claude code for publishing, and also updated it to occasionally pull recent posts from threads to make it feel a bit fresher (using a github action) with the intention of keeping the site as a centralized public notes/content hub. Will see how it evolves!

Just finished migrating the site from Astro 2 to Astro 5. The Content Layer API is a nice improvement, much cleaner than the old content collections setup.

Disney’s OpenAI deal is going to lead to stuff like this becoming more and more ubiquitous. I can readily imagine folks uploading their likeness and voice to Disney+ to be able to swap themselves out in key scenes across all the IP.

It’s nearly the end of 2025. I am charging a toy branded as an “AI cat,” but is really just a repackaged version of a “Poo-chi” from the early 2000s.

PSA: if you use google home / nest cameras, check the “faces that aren’t people” section in the app. Found my own face was considered non-human for over a year 😂

Currently paying google an extra $100/yr to give me deep AI insights such as “person exits grey Honda accord” or “Today, Shane relaxed on the couch in the morning.”
