Short thoughts and quick notes.

Saw a second VinFast EV driving around in Nassau County, Long Island. I’d never heard of them before, their footprint doesn’t seem huge in the US.

Finally had a personal project that I felt worthy of using on Fable. I’d been using Opus to iterate on scripts to help create proof-of-concept plans that I could eventually share with an actual architect. But, I wanted to see what it’d feel like to walk through the building, along with sun positioning, lighting, being able to open/close doors etc. So I had it create an in-browser 3D version of the plans.

Does prompt injection on social profiles and websites still work?

I’ve been trying Claude cowork for some personal projects to see how it compares with my typical terminal workflows, and I’m surprised that the sessions aren’t available via mobile. Wondering if I’m in a holdout of some kind?

Totally missed that Infantino traveled to ▓Qatar before the semi-finals…updating the tracker
Posted on:· via threads -
If Gianni Infantino attends the final three matches, he will have traveled approximately 52,000 miles across North America, racking up an estimated $1.44 million in private jet costs while attending 43 matches and a FIFA summit.

Made a lil’ intro for the Infantino flight cost tracker
Posted on:· via threads -
By my current tally, Infantino has now passed $1,000,000 worth of flights going to 30 games (plus a summit visit early on).
Posted on:· via threads -
Saw Infantino seated between Rubio and Patel at the Columbia vs Portugal game in Miami (I think it was around the 8 minute mark). Added to the tracker!

Thought this was an Anthropic collab for a moment

Did Infantino not physically attend the ▓Portugal vs ▓Uzbekistan game today? If so, I’m a bit shocked!
Posted on:· via threads -
Wow!

Ronaldo missed his first and only (so far AFAIK) World Cup penalty against ▓Iran in 2018 (saved by Beiranvand). Messi just missed wide against ▓Austria, making his 3rd WC penalty miss.
Posted on:· via threads -
I feel like I might be missing a game that he attended from the 18th and the 19th… If anyone can confirm, that would be super helpful.
I have him at the ▓Canada ▓Qatar game on the 18th and the Scotland ▓Morocco game on the 19th only so far.

Updated the Infantino World Cup flight tour page:
- Using @espn’s methodology (stadium-to-stadium distance) vs city center
- CO₂ counter with comparison callouts
- mi/km toggle
- the plane actually points to where it’s flying
Posted on:· via threads -
I noticed the camera would occasionally spotlight Gianni Infantino (FIFA president) during the games I’d watch, and I was curious how far he was traveling for each game, so visualized it (up til June 17th so far): https://infantino-flights.glup.dev

DIY tip: If your shower suddenly gets inconsistently lukewarm, the problem might be a stuck pressure-balance cartridge in the shower valve. Pull the cartridge (5 min), soak it in white vinegar for ~30 min to dissolve mineral buildup, rinse it, and reinstall. It can restore things without needing to buy any replacements.
Took me a decent amount of time diagnosing with a meat thermometer to figure this out!

Moved the deployment from Netlify to Cloudflare Workers. The site is fully static so it’s just serving the
dist/folder, no adapter needed. Added a GitHub Actions workflow to auto-deploy on push to main.Posted on: -

ChatGPT is engagement-baiting me hard now. It now ends responses with a teaser to continue the conversation (e.g. something like “would you like to learn the 1 big thing that people make a mistake on, and how you can avoid it?”). Feels like this is the big push for ads…

I replaced a CMS for my inconsistently-updated personal static site to now just use claude code for publishing, and also updated it to occasionally pull recent posts from threads to make it feel a bit fresher (using a github action) with the intention of keeping the site as a centralized public notes/content hub. Will see how it evolves!

The more I use AI tooling, the more important I realize it is to step away and occasionally exercise without the tools (e.g. writing with pen & paper). Might write more on this soon.

Weeks ago, I originally discounted Wispr Flow as just a slightly better version of macOS/iOS talk-to-text, but I’m starting to see the value now.

Refreshed the dark mode palette. Moved away from the purple borders and orange-brown accents to a cleaner charcoal + soft teal combo. Much easier on the eyes for late-night reading.

Swapped the site over to Inter. It’s one of those fonts that just works everywhere. Clean, readable, and the variable weight support is great for fine-tuning hierarchy.

Just finished migrating the site from Astro 2 to Astro 5. The Content Layer API is a nice improvement, much cleaner than the old content collections setup.

Disney’s OpenAI deal is going to lead to stuff like this becoming more and more ubiquitous. I can readily imagine folks uploading their likeness and voice to Disney+ to be able to swap themselves out in key scenes across all the IP.

It’s nearly the end of 2025. I am charging a toy branded as an “AI cat,” but is really just a repackaged version of a “Poo-chi” from the early 2000s.
